Pacifichem 2025, a world-renowned congress, was held from December 15 to 20 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Bringing together leading chemistry experts, this prestigious event serves as a premier forum for discussing major scientific breakthroughs within the Pacific Basin.

The Cardinal Lab was well represented, with poster presentations delivered by four of its graduate students. Élise Heinen and Sarah Kefil showcased their projects focused on the production and valorization of microalgae. Cécile Dedieu shared her initial results on developing new organic synthesis methods to facilitate the preparation of amino acids.

Finally, Frédéric Morin presented his work on obtaining the two enantiomers of quebecol, a bioactive natural product derived from maple syrup.

Congratulations to Élise, Sarah, Cécile, and Frédéric for the quality of their presentations and for proudly representing the Cardinal Lab and UQAR on the international stage!
