The 2025 edition of the Quebec-Ontario Mini-Symposium on Organic and Bioorganic Chemistry (QOMSBOC) was held from November 14th to 16th on the campus of Université Laval. The event, celebrating its 35th anniversary, gathered about 150 participants around a dynamic program that included high-level plenary lectures, a poster session, social events, and two professional workshops.
This year, the Cardinal Lab played a leading role, as the event was co-organized by Normand Voyer (U. Laval) and Sébastien Cardinal (UQAR). The contribution of all members of the Voyer Lab and the Cardinal Lab was instrumental to the success of this event.
The lab also was excellently represented by the participation Cécile Dedieu and Frédéric Morin to the poster session. Cécile Dedieu presented her work on the development of a strategy to prepare tetrasubstituted alkenes, while Frédéric Morin presented his work on the synthesis of the two enantiomers of Québecol, a bioactive natural product derived from maple syrup.
Congratulations to all the members of the Cardinal Lab for their involvement which underscores the group’s leadership within the organic and bioorganic chemistry community of Quebec and Ontario.
